Dali the Jeweller. August heat in Spain is a real testament to the endurance. The heat easily reminds of a genius artist, Salvador Dali and one of his famous works – Melting or Soft Watch. Dali the Jeweller
Not very well known but Dali apart from his astonishing paintings was also a very prominent jewellery designer, creating timeless art pieces. He started his jewellery journey in a collaboration with an influential Italian jeweller Fulco di Verdura. They displayed the results of their collaboration in Julien Levi Gallery in New York. Thanks to Dali’s paintings the exhibition attracted huge amount of attention in 1941. Next he signed a contract with Carlos Alemany for his own collection. Astonishingly he managed to sell 22 pieces of 37 even before creating the collection. What a genius.
Dali and His Masterpieces
Some of his famous pieces include the Eye of Time – a platinum broch with diamonds and ruby teardrop, Royal Heart with beating ruby heart in the golden crown, golden Psychedelic Flower with gems and many others. Obviously art masterpieces are priceless but one items of the Eye of Time sold in 1959 for 4500 dollars was sold to a private collector by Sotheby’s on May 8, 2014 for $1,055,000.
Dali is one of the prominent and bigger than a lifetime figures, a true landmark in an artistic history of the mankind. Excelling at what he does he gives us pleasure up to now to admire his artistic view of the world.
